Privacy Notice

Version privacy-2026-07-draft-1 · effective 2026-07-29

This document is a draft, not binding terms.

It has not yet been reviewed by the university legal office. It is published so the structure can be checked; do not rely on it.

PLACEHOLDER — NOT YET REVIEWED BY COUNSEL. This text is a structural draft so the product can be built and tested; it is not binding and must be replaced by the university legal office before launch.

What this notice must cover (Data Privacy Act of 2012, §16(b)):

  1. What personal data we collect and how it is collected.
  2. The purposes of processing, including that listening figures are aggregate and anonymous.
  3. The basis for processing, and that optional demographics rely on your separate opt-in consent.
  4. How long data is kept, and that raw listening rows are pruned on a rolling window.
  5. Who it may be shared with, and that published audience reports are aggregate only, with small groups withheld.
  6. Your rights: access, correction, erasure or blocking, objection, portability, and withdrawal of consent.
  7. How to exercise them, including the Data Protection Officer contact below.
  8. Your right to complain to the National Privacy Commission.

How erasure works here. Removing your account blanks your personal details, ends your sign-in, and stops your demographics being counted anywhere. Records that exist to keep the station accountable — moderation decisions and staff audit entries — are kept but no longer identify you. This is described plainly because it is not the same as deleting every trace, and you are entitled to know the difference before you ask for it.
